Teaching philosophy

I began my violin studies as Suzuki student when I was six years old, and my basic teaching philosophy is to this day based on Dr. Suzuki's insistence that "every child can." I have yet to meet a student of of any age who is unable to learn how to play and love the violin. I have taught children as young as three years old and beginners in their thirties, and while of course every student's natural strengths and tendencies differ, there is no such thing as someone who can't enjoy and partake in music-making. I have even taught students with whom I shared no languages: Rafael, pictured above in a group class at El Sistema El Salvador, spoke only Spanish!

For more information about lessons for yourself or your child, please contact me. I look forward to growing with you in music.
